It is an organization of small coffee growers united voluntarily by common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations, democratically controlled, based on cooperative principles where all its members believe in ethical values..
It was founded in 1972 by 16 coffee visionaries who organized themselves to shape it.. Its current membership (2018) is 636 partners, most of them small producers, whose farm extensions do not exceed five hectares..
It was legally established in March 1973, as a private legal entity with social responsibility, since from the beginning the founders have instilled a commitment to human and environmental development.
The area of influence is the Cordillera del Cacahuatique that has over 1000 small farms in an area with potential production exceeding 8,000 hectares. The Cooperative has implemented numerous projects of environmental sustainability and in the social aspect in the region, with the only interest to bring welfare to members and their families.
Beyond the production of our exquisite coffee, the cooperative has been characterized by having an environmental and social vision, which we show in each of our projects we carry out, bringing this philosophy to the producers who are not members of the organization but who they give the Cooperative, their coffee to be processed.
